The Health Effects of Being Seated All Day
This is your body on chairs: Electrical activity in the muscles drops — “the muscles go as silent as those of a dead horse,” Hamilton says — leading to a cascade of harmful metabolic effects. Your calorie-burning rate immediately plunges to about one per minute, a third of what it would be if you got up and walked. Insulin effectiveness drops within a single day, and the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes rises. So does the risk of being obese. The enzymes responsible for breaking down lipids and triglycerides — for “vacuuming up fat out of the bloodstream,” as Hamilton puts it — plunge, which in turn causes the levels of good (HDL) cholesterol to fall.
Life in Plain Text
… As Danny O’Brien discovered during his research into effective organizational habits of geeks, text is the simplest, most platform-independent, fastest-to-search format we have for storing information.

Slowly, I’ve been converting my own system over to “Plain Text Files”. For me, I’m using ResophNotes on my desktop to sync with SimpleNote on my mobile device. Additionally, I’ve configured ResophNotes to save plain text files to my DropBox, just in case 😉
Now, the only question that remains is how to name/store/keep all of the text files and find things? For that, I would advise taking a listen to the following podcasts that cover that exact topic:

6 Common Work Habits that Sabotage Your Productivity
3. Working Late
Let me ask you something. How productive are you after 5 pm, really? Chances are that even when you do work late, you spend a good chunk of that time reading blog posts and figuring out what restaurant you want to order delivery from. And even if you do work your butt off after hours, you’re just going to get burned out, making you more likely to get sick and lose even more productive hours. Staying late is okay when it is really needed, but if you do it habitually in hopes of getting ahead, you’re likely doing yourself (and your company) a disservice.
Busy
The question is, ‘what are you busy about?’

The Best Dwarf Cichlid for the Beginner – Multies Shell Dweller
I’ve got a colony of these little guys in my 20g long office aquarium and do enjoy their antics! While not as colorful as other african cichlids, their behavior is very interesting to watch and observe.

Looking at the 40 Hour Work Week
For example, the average work week in South Korea is 44 hours, while France has a law that states that 35 hours per week is the maximum allowable. European Union member countries have all agreed to cap the maximum hours worked per week to no more than 48. The work week in the Netherlands and Norway is 27 hours long, while workers in Australia and New Zealand work an averages of 33-34 hours per week.
